PUERTO RICO & CANCUN GET CLOSER WITH FRONTIER AIRLINES’ NEW DIRECT FLIGHT.

Frontier Airlines has announced that it will introduce direct nonstop flights from Puerto Rico to Cancun, beginning May 25, 2023. The airline plans to offer three flights per week from Cancun International to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan.

The airline’s decision to launch the new route is a direct response to the increasing demand for travel between the two destinations. Frontier Airlines has also revealed its major expansion service to Puerto Rico, with the addition of seven new routes from the U.S., including flights to Ponce for the first time, along with expanded service to San Juan and Aguadilla.

According to Daniel Shurz, senior vice president of commercial at Frontier Airlines, the expanded service is designed to meet the growing demand among leisure travelers, as well as Puerto Ricans residing in the U.S. who enjoy returning to the island to visit friends and family. With the new routes, Frontier Airlines will serve more routes to Puerto Rico than any other airline, totaling 19 nonstop flights in all.

The new direct flights to Cancun are part of Frontier’s commitment to expanding its service to Puerto Rico and the wider Caribbean region. The airline believes that the addition of new nonstop routes will significantly expand travel options for visitors to the island, making it easier for them to explore the beautiful beaches and attractions that Puerto Rico has to offer.
