RIVIERA MAYA AIMS TO ATTRACT DIGITAL NOMADS AND MEDICAL TOURIST WITH COPARMEX’S NATIONAL TOURISM PLAN.
The Riviera Maya branch of the Mexican Employers’ Confederation (Coparmex) recently presented their 2023 National Tourism Plan. The plan, which was unveiled at a press conference attended by the head of the Quintana Roo Tourism Secretariat, Bernardo Cueto Riestra, aims to promote Riviera Maya as a premier tourist destination in Mexico through a variety of initiatives.
Marc Pujol, president of Coparmex Riviera Maya and head of the National Tourism Commission, stressed the importance of collaboration between the government and private sector in achieving the goals of the plan. Among the key initiatives outlined in the plan are the creation of a destination certification for digital nomads and a focus on promoting the region as a destination for medical tourism.
Pujol also spoke about the creation of an innovation area within the Tourism Commission dedicated to smart cities and digitalization. In addition, Coparmex Riviera Maya aims to make Tulum a hub for sustainability and is working towards attracting new events and investments in the area.
Another project on the horizon is the Biofest in Tulum, which is set to begin at the end of February. This event will bring together representatives from federal and state agencies to focus on sustainability and environmental protection strategies.
Finally, Coparmex Riviera Maya is working to promote domestic tourism in the region through new marketing projects in conjunction with the state government. A committee will be formed this year to promote Riviera Maya as a medical tourism destination and to attract companies interested in investing in the area.
In conclusion, the 2023 National Tourism Plan from Coparmex Riviera Maya outlines a comprehensive strategy to promote the region as a top tourist destination. With a focus on innovation, sustainability, digital nomads, medical tourism, and more, Riviera Maya is poised to become a leading tourist destination in Mexico.
