Tulum & Playa del Carmen, among the top 22 destinations in the world for 2022: Tripadvisor
The US portal selected the Quintana Roo destinations for its Travelers Choice 2022 section, Best of The Best, intensely based on the experiences that tourists share on the platform.
For the travel website Tripadvisor, in its Travelers Choice 2022 section, Best of The Best, Tulum and Playa del Carmen are worthy of being in the 22 trendiest tourist destinations worldwide, both being tourist poles of the entity, the only Mexicans in this ranking.
The aforementioned website, which is consulted by thousands of netizens on the planet to learn about current travel trends, places Tulum in fourth place in preferences and Playa del Carmen in number 14, in a list that includes recognized destinations and others not so popular.
The travel portal offers reviews of travel content, highlighting the main attractions of Tulum, the color of the sea, its beaches and the archaeological zone on the shores of the Caribbean, which makes it a perfect place for international travelers.
“Tulum is a city on the Caribbean coast of Mexico, and is located in Quintana Roo, it is known for its well-preserved ruins of an ancient Mayan port. The main building is a large stone structure called El Castillo, which stands on top of a rocky cliff, overlooking the white sand beaches and turquoise sea that lie within Tulum National Park, a coastal area with mangroves and cenotes”, specifies Tripadvisor.
In addition to its beaches, Playa del Carmen stands out for its multiple entertainment, gastronomy and shopping options on Fifth Avenue, as well as its wide range of accommodation, which includes the Riviera Maya corridor.
The Travelers Choice 2022, Best of The Best collects millions of opinions about certain businesses in the tourism sector based on the experiences that tourists share on the platform.
In addition to this, this year the World Travel Awards, which are known as the “Oscars of the tourism industry”, nominated Tulum — along with Cancun, Playa del Carmen and Isla Mujeres — as candidates in different categories to obtain awards such as the best destinations in Mexico and Central America in 2022.
